Longtime www.n-sb.org follower and die hard skater Sean Conley has many talents. He is a high school culinary arts teacher, musician, photographer, and cinematographer. Check out Sean's recent interview with Vegan Skate Blog.
Below is a small tidbit from the Interview:
Why did you go Veg?
I went vegetarian my junior year of high school, in 2003. I originally went vegetarian because I didn’t like meat to begin with and didn’t agree with the thought of having to kill something to eat. I was also heavily influenced by the one and only Ed Templeton. I saw an interview with him and immediately felt connected and that I was not alone in my choices. It was really easy for me to stop eating meat and and I of course researched and learned of the countless benefits of a meat free diet after that. Even when I was vegetarian I didn’t wear suede or leather, or drink milk. I toured europe in summer 2009 with one of my bands and most of my friends over there were already vegan and I ate vegan the whole summer. It was a no-brainer for me to continue this when I got home, and that was about 3 years ago. I love it more and more. I feel healthier, and I’m in the best shape of my life. I cook all the time and now that I teach cooking I can share my knowledge with my students.
What is your favorite thing to skate and why?
TWo things. A really nice ledge; because I can skate it for hours and never get bored. And two, the streets. It’s vague but I love to just skate through a city and explore, using my skateboard as transportation. there is no other feeling like bombing hills with no clear direction of where you’re going.
