Nike SB Zoom Paul Rodriguez 2.5 Summer 11

The P-Rod 2.5 is one of our favorites from the P-Rod line. This summer it gives a nod to the Gucci colorway used on it's 'little' brother, the P-Rod 2, back in 2008. No matching gear this time but the colorway is timeless and works great on the 2.5. Expect these at P-Rod dealers in June. Also pictured is a Soft Grey/Black colorway that will release in April.

I love Vans and I love SBs; sure it's nice that they're line isn't really in the malls bc then you have something that is kinda of limited to you but at the same time, most people that don't want them in the malls are people that are mad that they're losing some level of 'cool'. I like SBs but they are in tune w/ stuff I like, like the QS and stuff are interesting, makes it more than just a shoe in some ways. But I'll never NEED Nike SB. Some of the people on here have a sound of desparation in their posts; like if SB doesn't do things identical to the way they did it in '04 then their world is gonna end or they're gonna bash SB. It really is like a girl that got dumped!

I'll say it a million times; if you need a shoe to make you feel cool then you have bigger problems than a 5th grader wearing some PRods!

The P-Rod 2.5 is one of my new fav's, but what is up with the hand to mouth action on SB in the mall?? The roots of Nike skateboarding WAS core shops. Every SB dealer was forced into being over the decision, now there are kids standing up for it? Nike as a brand has always graced malls, the same as VANS etc, but SB was the core shop line? Anyone remember, or care to remember? 6.0 was the mall shit. But cover it up quick, support your local right?

Very few Zumiez carry the SB line. There are 20+ Nike SB accounts in new york city area alone and about 5 zumiez in a 2 hour area that carry them. If you don't like Nike saturation blame the Internet. Dummies.

Ya, but capitalism is supply and demand; there's demand, so there's supply. So far, they are still keeping the full lines exclusive to core shops. They're also really strict on QSs bc my friend owns a shop and he tells me how they run their ship; it's a tight ship. That is the only valid point that I agree w/ in regards to keeping SB exclusive; it helps the skate shops. So I don't want to see it for sale in the shops but I honestly don't care who buys the shoes bc that's money back into skating. Sure the money is going to Nike but they spend a great deal of money on their riders and R&D so skateboarding sees the benefit directly or indirectly. I saw a group of Australian kids in the Philippines last week and they all had Janoskis and Bruins. The old school skater in me was bummed at first but then I tought "man, skating has more staying power now; some skate shop is doing better bc these kids bought those shoes." I mean, maybe they skate, but who knows. With all that said, I do think the PRod line is way too open though. Maybe they are trying to branch him out like a Jordan Brand. We may see a day when PRod is his own nike brand.(that depresses me a little bc I don't like the JB concept for some reason) Over here in China there are Nike stores that are owned and operated directly by Nike, and the other day I saw a pair of PRod 2.5s on the shelf at a regular Nike store. I gotta be honest; I was a little bummed but it made me realized how big this kid has gotten. And who gives a crap what any of us think, good for him and his family. Beyond PRod, my gut feeling is that the full SB line and the QSs will remain exclusive to the core shops. They've literally revitalized quite a few shops and brought them up to a good profit margin.

I hear all of you..but personally I shop all over the place..mall..skate shops..boutiques ..online..same with my sneakers..I don't get why ppl worry about what other ppl do so much..does it give ppl gratification when they bash someone for what they like or do..or where they shop or what shoes they like to rock..never understood it..are ppl insecure about how "fresh" they are or aren't??..I guess opinions n hate will never die..SB to me has bridged gaps that other companies could never dream of..they (Nike) practically have their foot in every genre of sports..from golf to basketball to skating..to now possibly bridging with the NFL to make the game ball Nike..which means every genre of human is going to be linked to Nike in some way or another..so get used to it..

What the hell is wrong with everyone? Who the frikk cares if you skate or not? Tennis shoes are not exclusive to tennis players, B-Ball shoes are not exclusive to ballers, Running shoes are not exclusive to runners, but some people say that people who don't skate should not buy skate shoes? Remember that the Chuck Taylors we're designed for B-Ball in the early days... IMO, posers should go to hell, but people who buy skate shoes cause they look good in them should not. Hahahaha. Here in the Philippines, I see a lot of posers wearing fake Supras, fake Jordan 1's... Why? They think it's the IN thing, they think they look good, THEY LOOK LIKE SHIT. But really, I agree that they shouldn't sell SB's EVERYWHERE, but I also agree that there's nothing wrong with selling SB's in malls, they should sell the GR's, but keep the QS's limited. Did anyone ever complain when Vans started selling everywhere? No. Vans still stays core to some level, a lot of core skaters still skate Vans. But whattup with Nike SBs?
