The Pro Bowl, is a yearly event that takes place at at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii. In recent years Nike has released several friends & family sneakers for the event, this year it's a Dunk. Looks pretty good, nice colorway, Hawaii on the heel... Mmm, wait a second, have we seen that before?
Let's go back to June 2010 when we featured Sharp020's Neon Green Hawaii customs on our frontpage. Great craftsmanship, patent leather, custom 3M quilted panels and... an embroidery of the Hawaiian islands on the heel. In neon green. Just like on these Pro Bowl Dunks...
Now of course it doesn't take a genius to come up with the idea to put the Hawaiian island on the heel of a Hawaii inspired shoe (hell, Nike SB did it back in 2006, although that was just the island of Hawaiʻi) but we feel this is a bit too much of a coincidence. We believe in giving credit where it's due, and if Nike doesn't do it, we gladly do it for them. And let's be honest, Sharp's embroidery looks a whole lot better.
