Hey Jest I partly agree. Nike SB got some much shit when they first dropped. Ive been in the surf/skate industry for over 10 years and its been interesting to see how Nike SB found their niche in the market. As for Jordan, I have no idea how thats going to work out. They are going to face the same shit Nike SB did but even worse because they have a basketball background. Skateboarding was made to be an individual sport and look and to fuck corporate america. Now the entire industry has chagned and can let a comapny like NIKE in, even though there are still ALOT of hardcore skaters who HATE NIKE like the guys from consolidated with their dunk that had the banana as the check. I think all of the new skaters that jumped in the scene because of Stevie Williams and Rob Dyrdek and all them will buy the Jordan Skate Shoes. Plus, I think every Jordan head will buy at least one pair. If they sign a sick skate team, which they have the money and connections to do it, they might actually be able to do really well. I hope they follow Nike SB’s format though. If they do a Reebok approach and whore themselves out they will be in shitty water. Thats why Stevie’s shoes did so shitty plus he had no marketing at all. So GOODLUCK Jordan and hook up with NIKE SB for some tips.

Calm down. Sounds like they’re just making a generic flat sole “streetwear” shoe that lightly touches on skateboarding. The street/skate scene has enough Jordan influence. Take a look at the hundreds of jordan spinoffs and remixes they and other brands have already done, not mention the overkilled cement schemes and jordan colorcopies. I don’t get the impression they’re going headfirst, all out w/ a skateteam and line of shoes. Gentry stated they only consulted w/ stevie williams about the nature of the scene admitting the brand didn’t know a thing about skateboarding. He went on to say MJ’s interests having a strong influence on the brand/shoes along with his close attn to detail. With that said, I don’t see the Jordan brand drifting onto the skateboarding scene. it’ll taint the brand. If the Jordan brand failed getting into the golf scene, how and why would they enter the skate scene?

this is insane! i’ve always thought about skating jay’s but i never actually did so this will be the combination of small yet mass proportions. if any of you didn’t notice at 4:23 seconds on the clip G.H. states that stevie WAS with reebok NOT IS, so that must mean that stevie is already on his way out the door and probably headed towards jordan if they start this shoe off right. and i agree with noiseisgolden if stevie is on the team every lil selfproclaimed dirty ghetto kid is gonna get a pair.

first of all, most of the guys who skate for the big athletic companies are huge primetime successful skaters who made it big without bitching and whining about every little thing like osiris. first of all osiris, your shoes look like shit. and its not like you guys were the original skate shoe producers on the planet, that was vans, and look where vans is today. everyone wears them. so osiris with your gay bananna shoes, stop complaining, cuz the guys that skate for nike and adidas sb have so much more hype and talent than those on your retarded skate teams who are probably gonna bail out on you guys some day cuz your shoes look so shitty and go to some company that designs nicer shoes than you.and the original vert skaters love airjordans , thats what they used to wear as skate shoes. the 3s definately look the most skatable out of all these shoes, and you could also do some damn good balling in those.and for those haters who say that bball players suck,think again, cuz most skate pros are die hard fans of bball and love the sport. the flips may have a bit of a delta force look to them most likely, or an airforce 2. but just to some it all up, the big corporate companies like nike and adidas just cant compete with vans in skateboarding, vans is just too big and to great for the skate community.but who really cares if osiris sells out, there shoes are ugly as shit

I thought that Toy Machine was supposed to be the Blood Sucking Company? We unfortunately gave Nike an inch and now they are trying to strip us of what WE created. Greed has seeped into our community and it looks like we might not be able to regain our integrity. Maybe one of Jordans illegitimate kids skate and now he wants to be a cool dad? I hope I can get Jordan’s autograph at the next skate signing. Osiris has been done, if you know anything about skating you wouldn’t waste your time writing about them. RBK never went anywhere but it did give Stevie millions and I am sure RBK felt good about their effort to exploit a kid from the ghetto.

i had the same idea as “kevin”. Take the ones and make them into skate shoes. I actually designed a pair and put the injected plastic from the ZOOM TRE on the toe of the shoe.. I would definitely buy them.

I have alwayz wanted for there to be a Jordan Skate shoe. I hope they sign a team and come out with boards. That would be sick. A board with a Jordan 3 elephant print and and big ass Air Jordan. Tell me that shit wouldnt be hot. I think a lot of people would get into it skaters or not. I already know a lot of Jordan heads would pick up a pair just for the fact that its Jordan. Unless…… they are ugly as fuck like a lot of skate shoes out there. They have to incorporate the Jordan Retros the rite way. I guess we’ll just have to see.

i think jordan fucked up hard, im sure they will sell millions of these things even though they are ugly as hell. but the amount of shit they are gonna get from the skate comunity, like i have a friend who skates sick as hell and buys all the new jordans. as soon as he found out they were trying to get into the skate scene, which they dont belong in the first place, he quite fuckin with jordan because they sold out. sell outs blow
