Nick Tershay of Diamond Supply Co. revealed the first samples that Nike sent for the Diamond SB Dunk.
While not nearly as flashy as the final shoe, the sample has the same colorway, albeit without the croc pattern and Diamond logo on the tongue.

Revealed on the Hypebeast forums, Nick ‘Diamond’ Tershay elaborated on the design process, how he worked with Nike, and the samples Nike sent him initially. Here are some pictures and a few quotes from Nick himself:
“I just happened to have the dunks on my desk because I just took that pic of them for a Japanese Magazine earlier today. I will probably never wear them because I feel funny wearing my own shoe after it was so Hyped. Figured I might as well give them away since I have another pair.
Here is a little history of the shoe design.
When I first created the Diamond Dunk I just submitted the colors to Nike and they came back like this.”

And of course, the final version.
