A new skatepark is always a welcome prospect. N-SB forum member Nerdysolecollector has posted a thread about Birdhouse team member Willy Santos‘ efforts to raise money to build a skatepark near his store in the Mira Mesa area of San Diego. For those of you in the area, all you have to do is pop into your one of Willy’s skateshops and buy some stickers or drop some cash in the donation buckets. If you live further afield and want to chip in, you can email Willy directly at info@willysantos.com or visit www.miramesaskatepark.org.

Birdhouse Pro Willy Santos is trying to raise money to build a skate park in Mira Mesa, a big community in San Diego.
Willy Monolato Santos was born in Subic Bay, Philippines, and has been skating for over 19 years. Willy grew up in Mira Mesa, and has been active outside of the skateboarding realm with various charities and community outreach programs.
Along with owning two shops in San Diego, Willy has helped the community of Rancho Penesquitos by aiding in the design of their skate park. Eventually Willy would like to be able to do the same for his hometown of Mira Mesa.
Mira Mesa is home to 6 elementary schools, 2 middle schools and 2 high schools. A skate park in Mira Mesa would be a huge opportunity for the youth of Mira Mesa.
If you would like to make a donation to help support Willy’s project, you could come to his Mira Mesa shop and drop some loose change, small bills, big bills and even checks into the donation bucket. Also all sticker sales at the Mira Mesa location will go towards building the skate park.
If you are not from the San Diego area and would like to make a donation to help Willy achieve his goal, you can email him at info@willysantos.com.
