Nike SB Zoom Veloce James Arizumi Sneaker Freaker interview

For anyone with an interest in classic Nike footwear, it’s fairly obvious where the design inspiration came from for the latest SB shoe, the Veloce, came from. But what (or who) kick started the concept and how do you even pronounce Veloce anyway? Sneaker Freaker caught up with SB designer James Arizumi to get the low down.

He also talks about the SB Pro Model series, including the ideas behind Janowski’s shoe and a teasing mention of a forthcoming offering from Omar Salazar.

And, lest we forget, Arizumi ends the interview with a little reminder of why Nike SB make shoes.

christian

well…i could understand why nike made this shoe cuz its a more comfortable shoe to wear skating, and last time i remember, that the sb on the nike sb label stands for skateboarding. so dont hate, on the shoe. its made for skaters not us shoeheads ahah

snxx

ya looks clean for skating, like an am90 mix wit sb..looks like a athletic looking skate shoe, compared to most blocky lookin skate shoes.

dbvhif

for those who say its all about dunks and prods are probably hypebeasts, sbs are for skating too, its not all about the looks smh
