Here is the latest custom from member FALSEQUEST of a Vans Sk8-Hi rendition. The inspiration for the “Broken Toe” can easily be recognized. About 3-4 months ago he suffered a sequence of multiple fractures while skating. Days after the worst damage took place and the swelling went down the bruising was at its most vibrant, he then realized the color was almost identical to some suede he had from an old project…

Hello all, these blazers are devoted to Michelangelo one of the master painters of his time. We wanted to immulate his attention to detail and overal iconic work. The shoe consists of two major parts of the sistine chapel ceiling called sybils. Most of the time you recognize just the main scene of God and adam, but we wanted to show another part of the ceiling. The detail consists of cracked marble accents on the check and through out the shoe. The insoles are hand painted and wearable. There are gold accents that are antique gold flake, also a custom marble box to end the theme.

The inspiration for the shoes are the Tim Burton film, Edward Scissorhands. The pair features a striking portrait of Edward on the outside, with the scars literally cut into his flesh. The shoes are accented with an added belt buckle in the front and gold grommets in the lace holes to play on his leathery custom-made body. There is a yellow butterfly on the tongue tag, shown in many of the movie posters, which represents his delicate innocence, counter balanced by the feature of the customs, his cracked mirror scissorhands over his face and on the swoosh which are hard and sharp. The insoles and box are covered in plastic grass, which is trimmed to shimmering perfection, just as Edward cuts all the shrubs in the perfectly plastic town that eventually rejects him.
