More information has surfaced about the Dunk Low Premium SB, previously referred to in the blogosphere as the ‘Chirping Bird’ Dunk. The shoe was pictured (albeit momentarily) on the February release page of the Nike SB website, with the colourway attributed to Larry Perkins.
The Atlanta Got Sole blog has shed some more light on who Larry is…

A skate shoe that makes bird noises when the tongue is pressed? Really? Yes, really. The so-called ‘Chirping Bird’ Nike Dunk Low Pro SB, as revealed in a video by At The Buzzer sneaker consignment shop, is set for a February ‘quickstrike’/special release.
However, it’s not all good news (although that may be a matter of opinion), due to issues of importation, only the US release of the shoe will feature the chirping tongue. But, with an innovative use of materials – denim, patent leather and a furry liner – and great colours – black upper with white/red midsole/outsole, there’s definitely still reason to keep your eye on your local skate shop for this release.
For those of you who can’t wait, Arktz is offering preorders on pairs now. But, since it’s a Japanese website, it might be worthing contacting them to find out whether the shoe chirps or not.

This teasing picture of Eric Koston showing off what looks like a black suede Dunk High SB, with white swoosh and midsole and a gum outsole, popped up on Kevin Imamura’s Twitter feed. As yet, there is no information, or any other images, on these potential beauties. Keep your eyes on the forum for any info if/when it comes in.

Next month’s batch of SB releases have started to crop up in several UK skateshops. And what a batch it is with three of the six GR shoes being great Premium offerings – the final P-Rod II Supreme-inspired colourway, simple-but-brilliant white perf Dunk Low and red suede Blazer. All these should start appearing around the world over the coming weeks.

“These Kustoms were inspired by artist Luke Chueh and feature his various characters on the shoes as well as the insoles. Kept the background simple to really highlight the work…..”

In a bit of a nice pre-Christmas surprise for those of us living in the UK (and those of you further afield who can’t wait and are willing to pay Pound prices and international shipping), the January Nike SB releases have arrived already.
There’s the ‘Twin Peaks’ black Dunk High Premium, black forest/lemondrop P-Rod II and two colours of the all-new Veloce.
The only one missing, annoyingly, is the purple Blazer Premium. No word as yet as to when that juicy little number will be arriving, but there’s still plenty to get excited about.
