Made For Skate article in Streetwear Today magazine January ’09 issue

The latest issue of international fashion glossy Streetwear Today contains an article on Made For Skate, the exhibtion of skate shoes through the ages. The footwear retrospective was established in Stuttgart by skateboarders Jürgen Blümlein and Daniel Schmid and, backed by Nike SB, has been touring Europe, most recently in Amsterdam. The article comprises an interview with Blümein and Schmid about why they set up the exhibition and the process that went into doing so.

The history of skate shoes – feature on Sneaker Freaker

Australian sneaker site and producer of the must-have magazine of the same name, Sneaker Freaker, has uploaded a 19-page feature of the history of the skate shoe – Barefoot and Bitumen: The History of Skate Sneakers, 1960-85. The article is based on interviews with the people who actually wore the shoes, experiencing the evolution: Aussie skater Tony Hallam, film maker Bruce Walker, legedary Z-Boy Stacey Peralta, photographer Jim Goodrich and Steve Alba.
